Kunstmuseum Moritzburg: Paths of Modernity. Art in 20th Century Germany
Germany, Halle (Saale) (2019)
Around 1500, the castle Moritzburg was built as the residence of the Magdeburg archbishops. Later, the building was used for various purposes and underwent several modifications, until, around 1900, the Kunstmuseum der Stadt Halle (Art Museum of the City of Halle) moved in. To create new, modern exhibition space for the constantly growing art collection of the museum, the Kunstmuseum Moritzburg was extended between 2005 and 2008 by Nieto Sobejano Architects. In the course of this refurbishment the museum was equipped with reusable, adaptable kub2 walls.
